IranJournal Article20090521Magnetic nanoparticles of cobalt-zinc ferrite (Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4) have been synthesized in a homogeneous aqueous solution at room temperature by co-precipitation method without any template and subsequent heat treatment. Synthesis of material is confirmed using XRD from the report of single phase polycrystalline ferrite material and also determined lattice constant. Atomic absorption spectrophotometer was used for the estimation of cobalt, zinc and Fe3+ ions. TEM micrograph shows that the nanoparticles are spherically shaped and the particle distribution is in the range between 6 to 10 nm. VSM shows that the sample is superparamagnetic at room temperature. The variation of AC-susceptibility of the samples with respect to temperature from 80 to 520K was measured and it was found that the blocking temperature is around 195 K. TG-DTA studies confirmed the presence of associated water content in the precipitated nanoparticles and indicated that ferritization was completed. The FTIR spectra of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 has been analyzed in the frequency range of 400-4000 cm-1. IranJournal Article20090901This paper reports results of a study regarding the activities of nano structure Mn/γ-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 catalysts for oxidation of 2-propanol (as a model of volatile organic compound). Nanostructure of catalysts was revealed using XRD, SEM and TEM techniques. Catalytic studies were carried out in U-shaped packed bed reactor under atmospheric pressure and at the reaction temperature of 150- 500°C. Results showed that the introducing of manganese onto γ-Al2O3 improves the activity of Mn/γ-Al2O3 compared to pure γ-Al2O3 for oxidation of 2-propanol. This study confirms that nanostructure Mn/γ-Al2O3 catalysts can be suitable for oxidation of organic compounds. This study, hopefully, holds the promise for the eliminating of 2-propanol contained hazardous materials in industrial application.https://www.ijnnonline.net/article_3978_a9cf7b7a4620d630cb49767b8c47b5e6.pdfIranian Nanotechnology SocietyInternational Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology1735-70046120100301Removal of Heavy Metals from Aqueous Solution by Mordenite Nanocrystals31413979ENA. IranJournal Article20091130This study examined the ability of the synthetic mordenite nanocrystal to remove Tl(III) and As(III) from an aqueous solution. The determination of the concentration changes of H+ and OH- quantities in the acidic (pH 3) and alkali (pH 9) treated mordenite nanocrystals were done by the potentiometric titration curves. The maximum uptake capacities (Qmax) of these metal ions using the mordenite in the separate batch reactors from 278 to 323 K were obtained about 0.627-0.836 and 0.563-0.742 mmol/g, for Tl(III) and As(III), respectively. In order to remove these metal ions, the enthalpy change (ΔH) was 11.236 and 9.856 kJ/mol and the entropy change (ΔS) was 38.1 and 42.9 J/mol K, respectively. Mordenite nanocrystal removed these heavy metals corresponding to pseudo-second-order kinetic model.https://www.ijnnonline.net/article_3979_c0782a2f8d3cb8b3fea572864b99853e.pdfIranian Nanotechnology SocietyInternational Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology1735-70046120100301Preparation of Polyaniline Nanocomposite with Natural Clinoptilolite and Investigation of Its Special Properties43523980ENA. NaseriPolymer Composite Research Laboratory, Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Tabriz, Tabriz, I. R. IranJournal Article20091128A nanocomposite of polyaniline (PANI) with natural clinoptilolite (Clino) was prepared by chemical oxidative polymerization of anilinium cations in the presence of clinoptilolite dispersion. The PANI/Clino nanocomposite was characterized using FTIR, XRD and SEM techniques as well as electrical conductivity measurement using four point probe technique. Cyclic voltammetry analysis was used to investigate the electroactivity of PANI/Clino nanocomposite. Also solubility of the nanocomposite was determined compared to the pure PANI. Formation of the nanocomposite and incorporation of polyaniline into the clinoptilolite channels were confirmed by FTIR spectra and XRD patterns. According to the results, increasing the zeolite content of PANI/Clino nanocomposite up to 0.5% w/w, increases the electrical conductivity of the nanocomposite, but further increasing of the zeolite content causes decreasing the conductivity. Cyclic voltammetry studies showed that the noanomposite is electroactive as well as pure PANI. Also according to the results of solubility tests, the solubility of PANI/Clino nanocomposite in N-methyl pyrrolidone solvent was improved.https://www.ijnnonline.net/article_3980_5c308b4d57575391f6671117c2263b54.pdfIranian Nanotechnology SocietyInternational Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology1735-70046120100301Statistical Modeling of Adsorption and Selectivity of the Binary Gases of CO2 /CH4 , CH4 /H2 and CO2 /H2 on MWCNT-OH53643981ENM. IranJournal Article20101206Equilibrium adsorption property of multi-walled carbon nanotubes with OH group was studied using experimental design for the adsorption of CO2 , CH4 and H2 . The effect of temperature, pressure, their binary interactions and quadratic terms were studied for adsorption capacity of nanotubes and the results were analyzed by the face centered central composite design method and analysis of variance. The static experiments were carried out at various temperatures (288.15, 298.15 and 308.15 K) and pressures (4.50, 16.65 and 28.80 bars) in a volumetric apparatus to find out the effective parameters on adsorption capacities of each gas. In addition, influence of effective parameters was studied on CO2 /CH4 , CO2 /H2 and CH4 /H2 selectivity of nanotubes in order to realize the capability of this kind of adsorbent for separation processes. Finally, the optimal conditions to maximize CO2 /CH4 , CO2 /H2 and CH4 /H2 selectivity were determined.https://www.ijnnonline.net/article_3981_c6caf36059b44632627314a513892a7e.pdfIranian Nanotechnology SocietyInternational Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology1735-70046120100301Production of Metalized UDMH Gel Fuel and Study the Effect of Surfactant on the Homogeneity and Stability of the Aluminium Nano Particles65703982ENN. GhobadiMalek Ashtar University of Technology, Tehran, I. R. IranA. Saberi MoghadamMalek Ashtar University of Technology, Tehran, I. R. IranJournal Article20091222Gelled propellants are improved propellants that can be considered as the final extension of liquid propellants. High specific impulse, good density and safety better than that of both solid and liquid propellants are advantages of the gel propellants. They are made by addition a suitable gellant to liquid propellants. In this research, nano Al particles have been used in UDMH gel fuel. The gellation process was done in two steps. First, making metalized nano suspension using ultrasonic-magnetic agitation and second, gellation under mechanical-magnetic agitation. Tween-80 as a surfactant was added to the fuel to distribute nano Al particles in the gel media. Experimental study showed that, adding 3% Tween-80 to the gel mixture caused better distribution of nano particles in gel and improved homogeneity, stability and decreasing synersis of the liquid fuel, UDMH, from network of the gel.https://www.ijnnonline.net/article_3982_6516bfc81e717a7bcb7d70f0fb7fa38f.pdf
